Hello all, I’ve decided that I want expand on the content of my blog and include some posts in regards to both fashion and beauty! The first makeup brand I will speak about is none other than Fenty Beauty.
Aunty Rihanna has really done the thing with shaking the table of shade diversity with her extensive range of foundations and concealers (as of 11th January 2019). I remember when the brand first launched in 2017 I was so excited to get my hands on her stuff. However, impatient me wasn’t looking to cue in order to get shade matched so I ended up purchasing just the Gloss Bomb and Invisimatte Blotting Powder (which I quickly returned because I truly didn’t need it). Since then, she has been coming through with great releases of products and collections so I have taken it upon myself to invest in some of these products to form a basis in my collection. I own a total of 5 Fenty products however in this review I am going to focus on the items that I have actually used (or extensively used) so far.
Pro Fil’tr Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
I finally managed to get my hands on this foundation last year in the summer where I was able to get shade matched in peace with no queue. I was matched to the shade 420 and it somehow just works and blends into my skin. I was sceptical at first because it’s the same shade as some influencers and friends who will be considered as darker than me but honestly, it works well for me across all seasons. I did buy the primer as well however I’ve only used it once with the foundation because I’ve been using my other smaller mattifying primers first before I fully switch to it. I can get away with 2-3 pumps for a nice skin-like finish and it has honestly become my go-to foundation to use even over my Lancome. It works great for my oily-combination skin as it gives a soft matte finish all over which isn’t too drying for me.
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminzier
I bought the Gloss Bomb in the shade, Fenty Glow, as soon as it launched in 2017 and it has honestly made me fall in love with lipgloss again. I love the rose gold shade on my lips and its honestly wearable with any makeup look and colour in such a way that I tend to just wear this lipgloss now instead of a bold matte lip. I only ever wear this with the MAC chestnut lip liner and I can honestly say that you can’t go wrong with this specific combination of a brown lip liner and pink gloss. This combination has become my go-to lip combination as seen in my pictures from my Brussels trip in February. Excluding the fact that my wigs stick to my lips sometimes, this gloss has become a ride or die member of my make up collection I must add that it smells absolutely amazing if you don’t mind your cosmetics having a scent. I would definitely recommend adding this to your makeup collection!
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter
The original that is Trophy Wife! I purchased this towards the end of last year and I first used it on my birthday weekend celebration. What I will say is that a little goes a really really long way because using too much paired with not so very good blending can you having beaming way too much from afar. We want to blind our enemies with the highlight but still, be blended and natural-looking (well me personally). The pigment and colour are absolutely gorgeous though I’m a sucker for a yellow/gold-based highlighter so I know I will be drawing for this a lot to finish my makeup looks and for an inner eye corner highlight. Sadly, I got a dent in the powder but nonetheless I will still be bringing this out to play. For a highlighter, when compared to my other highlighters, you get a lot of product meaning that this may take a while to finish but nonetheless an investment for the slay.
Overall, Fenty Beauty have honestly done so well with their products overall and I can definitely see myself topping up on the foundation and lipgloss when they run out and have them as staples on my makeup collection. I will do a follow-up post once I have given the Pro Fil’tr Soft Matte Longwear Primer a fair go.
Until next time
